Job summary

Ford Motor Company in the Detroit area seeks a Logistics/Operations Engineer to support the PS&L team within FCSD. You will design layouts, improve processes, and implement advanced technologies in an on-site operations environment.

The role requires a bachelor's degree plus experience in project management, cross-functional collaboration, and data-driven analysis. Travel to North American facilities is expected; salary ranges from $72,480 to $162,120 with benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Masters degree preferred.
• Engineering/supply chain management degree preferred.
• Depot operations experience preferred.
• Strategy and planning experience preferred.
• History of material handling automation implementation preferred.
• Project management experience preferred.
• AutoCAD experience preferred.
• SAP/MMP/Excel/PowerPoint experience preferred.
• Knowledge of purchasing systems/Ariba/MEARS/PCAM/I-ERP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with vendors and facility management to design/install solutions at Ford distribution operations.
• Work cross-functionally with purchasing, finance, manufacturing, and labor affairs.
• Perform internal purchasing functions to generate requisitions, approvals, POs, and invoices.
• Utilize AutoCAD to design layouts or adjust existing CAD drawings.
• Identify deficiencies in material flow; provide data-based recommendations.
• Use SAP EWM and BI data to pull datasets and visualize insights for PS&L.
• Benchmark best-in-class OEMs; build business cases and present to FCSD leadership.
• Apply project management to meet deadlines and budgets in a fast-paced setting.
• Be onsite 3-4 days/week at a metro Detroit PS&L facility; travel as needed.
