Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a role within the Parts Supply & Logistics engineering services team to support continuous improvement and implementation of operational strategies. You will work with plant leadership to improve facility layouts, develop business cases, and deploy advanced technology solutions in a high-paced environment.

Responsibilities include collaborating with vendors, performing purchasing tasks, using AutoCAD, and leveraging SAP/EWM and BI data to drive decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Engineering or supply chain degree is preferred.
• Masters degree preferred.
• Experience with depot operations and project management is preferred.
• Familiarity with material handling automation and purchasing systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and install solutions at Ford distribution operations with 3rd party vendors and facility management.
• Collaborate with purchasing, finance, manufacturing, and labor affairs.
• Handle internal purchasing to generate requisitions, approvals, POs, invoices and reconciliations.
• Use AutoCAD to adjust CAD drawings for facilities.
• Identify material flow deficiencies and provide data-based recommendations.
• Pull data with SAP EWM and BI tools and visualize insights for PS&L stakeholders.
• Benchmark with OEMs, build business cases, and present to FCSD leadership.
• Apply project management to meet deadlines, budget targets, and obstacles.
• Onsite 3–4 days per week at a metro Detroit PS&L facility; travel North America-wide for benchmarking.

In this position...

In this role, you will be supporting the engineering services team within Parts Supply & Logistics (PS&L) within Ford’s Customer Service Division (FCSD). In this role you will be tasked with supporting PS&L’s operations network by (1) continuously improving facility layout/design working collaboratively with plant leadership (2) researching best in class operational practices, developing strategies and business cases (3) executing/implementing approved continuous improvement strategies/projects. (4) supporting implementation of advanced technology solutions in an operations environment.

Responsibilities

What you'll do...

• Work collaboratively with 3rd party vendors and facility management to design and install solutions at Ford distribution operations.
• Work cross functionally with other Ford organizations such as purchasing, finance, manufacturing, and labor affairs.
• Perform internal purchasing functions to generate requisitions and gain necessary approvals to execute POs, process invoices, and reconcile discrepancies.
• Utilize AutoCAD to make adjustments to new or existing facility CAD drawings.
• Identify deficiencies in existing material flow and storage strategies, provide recommendations based on data supported analysis.
• Utilize SAP EWM and available BI data to pull critical data sets, performing data visualization to draw key inferences for key PS&L stakeholders.
• Assist in benchmarking best in world OEMs, generate detailed business cases based on solution recommendations, and convert findings into presentations that can be shared with FCSD executive leadership.
• Leverage project management skills to hit deadlines, stay within budget, and overcome obstacles in a high paced environment.
• Candidates should expect to be onsite at a metro Detroit PS&L operations facility 3-4 days per week, with locations varying day to day.
• Candidates should expect periodic travel to North American PS&L operations facilities and to travel for benchmarking with other OEMs and equipment vendors.

This position is a salary grade 6 or 7 and ranges from $72,480-$141,360.
