Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Kentucky is seeking a skilled manufacturing engineer to oversee maintenance and engineering operations, optimizing the assembly process with skilled trades collaboration.

Responsibilities include supervising production control systems, root cause analysis of downtime, and improving efficiency through automation and controls. Candidates with electrical/robotics background and union experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • One or more years of technical work experience and troubleshooting in a Manufacturing or an OEM Tooling environment.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook) is a plus.
  • Validated experience managing a unionized workforce is a plus.
  • Demonstrated skill with automotive controls and robotics is desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Automation, Controls or Robotics Engineering is preferred.

  • Work with ME/PE to launch new programs or equipment, optimize Automation and Controls systems for process tooling.
  • Provide input to MPS for weekend and shutdown maintenance planning.
  • Work any shift as well as rotating shifts and weekends.
  • Collaborate with Skilled Trades to create modern solutions and pursue new technologies.

In this position...

You will have oversight over maintenance and engineering operations, optimizing the assembly process through the collaboration of skilled trades work groups.

What you'll do...
  • Oversee production controls systems and associated systems

  • Conduct root cause analysis of downtime issues to prevent recurrence (4D process)

  • Analyze equipment performance and work to improve efficiencies; actively participate in Constraint Review Process

  • Lead oversight of controls and automation to include:

    • Indirect supervision of electrical trades and electrical technicians supporting production and facilities operations.

    • Robot, Automation and controls changes associated with process tooling and equipment. Includes programming and logic changes.

  • Work with ME/PE to launch new programs or equipment, optimize Automation and Controls systems for process tooling

  • Provide input to MPS for weekend and shutdown maintenance planning

  • Work any shift as well as rotating shifts and weekends

  • Work collaboratively with Skilled Trades to create modern solutions and pursue new technologies

You’ll have...
  • High School Diploma or GED

  • One or more years of technical work experience and troubleshooting in a Manufacturing or an OEM Tooling environment

Even better, you may have...
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Automation, Controls or Robotics Engineering

  • Technical certification in Robot / Automation and Controls

  • Three or more years of automotive experience

  • One or more years of experience with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)

  • Validated experience managing a unionized work force

  • Demonstrated skill with automotive controls and robotics

This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $72,480-121,440.

This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $84,480-141,360.

This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $96,720-162,120.
