Job summary

Family Health Centers of Southwest Florida is seeking a Credentialing Specialist to manage credentialing and recredentialing for healthcare providers and clinical staff. The role ensures licenses, certifications, and documentation are current and compliant with regulatory and payer requirements.

You will verify credentials, maintain records, and coordinate with licensing boards, hospitals, and payers. The position requires strong attention to detail and proficiency in credentialing systems.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of credentialing, provider enrollment, and primary source verification.
• Ability to manage multiple providers, applications, and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information.
• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel and credentialing systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage initial, recredentialing, and ongoing credential maintenance for healthcare providers and clinical staff.
• Collect, verify, and maintain provider information including licenses, certifications, and education.
• Conduct primary source verification of credentials per standards and policies.
• Maintain provider records in credentialing databases and electronic systems.
• Monitor expiration dates for licenses, certifications, registrations, and malpractice insurance.
• Initiate and track credentialing applications with payers (Medicare/Medicaid and commercial).
• Communicate with providers, boards, hospitals, and payers to obtain required documentation.
• Identify missing or inconsistent information and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare credentialing files for review by credentialing committees.
