Job summary

Community Health Centers is seeking a Credentialing and Recredentialing Specialist to coordinate credentialing activities for physicians, nurses, and other licensed clinicians. The role involves verifying qualifications, licenses, and education, plus primary source verification and tracking of credentialing status.

You will maintain credential files, manage privilege processes by specialty, and ensure timely renewals and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• High school degree required.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years' Credentialing and Privileging experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate initial credentialing and recredentialing activities for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, dentists, behavioral health providers, pharmacists, other licensed practitioners, and other clinical staff.
• Verify provider qualifications, licensure, certifications, education, training, and other required credentials for new and existing providers.
• Perform primary source verification in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and manage the status of credentialing applications and requested information, applying proactive problem-solving regarding prioritization and follow-up of initial and reappointment applications.
• Send timely notifications regarding upcoming expiration of appointments and credentialing requirements.
• Responsible for all verified information and prepares, presents, and maintains credential files for leadership and boards.
• Coordinate with providers to facilitate hospital privilege initial appointment and reappointment process by specialty.
• Review and process requests for changes in clinical privileges and staff status through committees; maintain records of decisions.
• Develop Provider Employment Agreements: drafts and manages agreements in compliance with policies and legal requirements.
• Executes initial agreements and manages renewal process while maintaining accurate records and timelines.
