Working under the direction of the Director of Provider Compensation, the Analyst ensures every provider is paid accurately and on time in accordance with their agreement, and serves as a knowledgeable, responsive point of contact for providers with questions about their pay. Beyond each pay cycle, the Analyst turns compensation data into insight. The role reconciles provider payroll, supports month-end reporting and budgeting, identifies discrepancies and the issues behind them, and prepares analysis that helps leadership make sound compensation decisions. 1. Compensation Calculation and Payment Administration:
  • Track and calculate compensation for medical providers (W-2 employees and 1099 contractors) based on their contracts and agreements.
  • Ensure pay is issued to providers timely and accurately and elevate unusual request to VP and Director of Provider Compensation for approval.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting team to coordinate additional compensation such as medical director pay, stipends and other contract-based payments handled by accounting team.
  • Run year-end calculations and quarterly true-ups.
2. Compensation Data, Systems and Reconciliation:
  • Maintain an accurate provider compensation database, run the compensation software, and build and maintain dashboards.
  • Manage month-end compensation and payroll reporting and reconciliations.
3. Analytics and Reporting:

  • Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to provider compensation.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on compensation analysis to support decision-making.
  • Prepare and present reports on compensation trends and analysis to senior management.
4. Provider Relations and Support:

  • Escalate complex or sensitive issues to the Director of Provider Compensation
  • Prepare and distribute periodic compensation and productivity statements to providers and help educate providers and practice leaders on compensation plans and reporting.
  • Provide analytical support for provider questions about revenue, learning to identify the issues driving poor collections and responding to provider questions and concerns on time.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration and Other Duties:
  • Work with physician recruitment, Legal and HR to make sure contract terms are followed, and with Payroll, Accounting and Operations to deliver pay to providers accurately and on time.
  • Provide backup for other payrolls when needed and help with other projects and tasks assigned by the manager.
Job Requirements (including certifications):
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, HR, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience working specifically within a healthcare finance, revenue cycle, or hospital system.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience calculating medical providers' compensation with knowledge of work RVUs and CPT coding.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience communicating with medical providers. Comfortable speaking with providers about their compensation and issues.
  • Strong data analytics skills with proven experience manipulating large datasets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with the ability to learn new technologies.
  • Proficiency with compensation management software and HRIS.
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry metrics and KPIs (such as wRVUs, collections-based models, and shift-rate structures).
  • Great attitude and willingness to work with others professionally in a remote setting,
Ability to travel occasionally as required for training and meetings.
Physical Requirements:
  1. This is a full-time remote, work-from-home position, primarily working during standard business hours handling sensitive and confidential information. Work must be performed in a private and secure setting requiring reliable internet and phone connectivity.
