Job summary

Brunswick Boat Group Tech Center seeks an experienced leader to oversee Prototype and Tooling teams. You will guide technicians in mock-up builds, mold/tooling, testing, and production integration, partnering with Design, Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain.

You will drive safety, KPI-driven performance, and 6S compliance while mentoring talent, delivering on schedules, and advancing continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience.
• Experience managing salary and hourly team members.
• 5-10 years marine industry knowledge and boat building experience.
• Proficiency with PC-based software (Microsoft Office, Teams, OBMS).
• Experience with on-water data acquisition systems, interpreting data and compiling test reports.
• Strong problem solving and decision making capabilities.
• Self-starter with high energy and leadership ability.
• Advanced knowledge of manufacturing methods and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction for Tooling and Prototype teams.
• Define schedules and KPIs for all products at the BBGTC.
• Lead daily Gemba walks to align priorities and identify issues.
• Support mold/tooling, prototype builds, testing and production integration.
• Communicate with BBGTC leadership and program managers; report at gates.
• Schedule testing of prototype boats and review findings with engineers.
• Remove barriers to maximize productivity in tooling and proto shops.
• Monitor maintenance for engineering test vessels.
• Track labor and material usage monthly.
• Collaborate across departments, vendors and dealers.
• Maintain talent development and succession plans.
• Ensure 6S and quality standards are followed.
• Willing to work overtime and travel <10%.
