Job summary

Generac Power Systems in Wisconsin is seeking an Engineering Technician I to perform electrical, mechanical, and environmental tests on current and new product designs under supervision. You will set up test equipment, run tests on prototypes, document results, and assist with lab audits and 5S programs.

The role requires a High School Diploma and at least 3 months of relevant experience; readiness to handle physical tasks and participate in a Friday-Sunday shift pattern is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; candidate should show up with basic lab skills.
• 3 months of relevant work experience in testing or a lab setting preferred.
• Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Set up test equipment and products per testing procedures.
• Perform tests on prototypes, existing, and competitor products for specified criteria involving mechanical, electrical, environmental, and electromechanical functions through ISO 17025 and Laboratory Scope of Operations
• Use various mechanical, electrical, and electronic measurement devices.
• Accurately interpret and document measurements.
• Assist in the assembly and fabrication of test equipment and prototype products per blueprint specifications.
• Follow guidelines for bill of materials.
• Support manufacturing through troubleshooting activities.
• Maintain test-related documentation in, and support administration of, database environment.
• Prepare formal and informal test reports.
• Assist with the Generac Engineering Laboratory Audit and organization 5S programs.
