Job summary

Novanta Inc. seeks an Engineering Technician I in Rocklin, CA. You will assist engineers with building and testing solutions, and contribute to prototypes and production equipment development.

The role involves mechanical/electro-mechanical assembly, CAD interpretation, and hands-on use of CNC machines and lab equipment. A technical degree and soldering/wiring skills are preferred, with a focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical training in mechanical/electro-mechanical fields.
• Experience with electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Ability to interpret CAD drawings and engineering docs.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks preferred.
• Soldering and wiring experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assemble prototypes and production-intent products per specs.
• Assist engineers in designing, fabricating, testing fixtures and test equipment.
• Safely use hand tools, power tools, CNC machines and lab equipment.
• Use precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, CMM, oscilloscope).
• Support failure analysis and product testing activities.
• Maintain calibration tracking, preventive maintenance and inventory.
• Follow safety rules and company policies.
