Base pay range

$63,000.00/yr - $84,000.00/yr

Position Summary

The Prototype Production Supervisor oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of prototype and trial production runs for new flexible packaging products. This role bridges the gap between R&D, production, and quality to ensure the successful scale-up of innovative packaging solutions. The supervisor leads a small team and ensures prototype production adheres to safety, quality, and schedule requirements while maintaining operational flexibility and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Production

• Manual assembly of printed flexible packaging
• Operate simple machinery for heat-sealing packaging
• Safely Packaging finished product ready to ship for a secure delivery
• Palletizing and shrink wrapping completed projects on Skids
• Production Work - Quad Seal Bags, Origami 6pk Cartons, Shrink Tunnel, Zipper Pouches, Pillow Pouches
• Cutting Work- Mounting Cartons & Corrugated Cartons - Large Format
  
  

Project Management

• Follow work orders, job ticket requirements, and meet production deadlines, coordinating team resources and planning of needed materials and production scheduling
• Coordinate and manage Large Shipments. Drop Ship to multiple locations
• Shipping & Receiving
• Zund Cutting/Production.
• Forklift Operator/Material Handler
  
  

Staffing

• Managing Temp Labor, Schedules & Time Sheets
  
  

Administration

• Cleaning duties when schedule allows
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and safety procedures
• Safety Culture AIB Documentation
  
  

Purchasing

• Packing Slip, BOL & Shipping Box Labeling Management
• Supply Inventory - Boxes, Tapes, Bubble, Peanuts
• Ordering Epson Material
• Ordering & Maintaining Uline supplies, ie. Boxes, Tapes, Janitorial & Shop Supplies
• P-Card & Amazon Purchases
  
  

Qualifications

• Understanding of Flexible Packaging, Folding Cartons & Digital Printing (HP Indigo)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within the parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a very fast-paced environment to ensure customer deadlines are met
• Detail-Oriented
• Bilingual preferred, (Spanish a plus), but not required
• High school diploma or GED required; college degree is a bonus but not essential
• 2-5 years of previous supervisor experience
• Communicate clearly and professionally with Ops, Sales, Prepress & Production Staff
• Basic Microsoft Office Experience. Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook
