Job summary

Victaulic's Corporate Engineering Research and Development Laboratory seeks a skilled machinist to prototype components and fixtures, ensuring dimensional standards throughout prototype construction. Creative input is valued when standard methods don’t apply.

You will set up and operate machine tools, test prototypes, and work from blueprints to meet project timelines. Travel may be required; safety and documentation procedures apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum of eight years of machine shop or related experience.
• Proficient in blueprint reading, assembly drawings, shop math, geometry, and precision measuring instruments.
• Experience setting up, operating, and maintaining lab machine tools; CNC programming is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Milling Machines, CNC lathes, grinders, and saws.
• Machine prototype components from 3-D model files supplied by Engineering Design.
• Design and construct fixtures for machining processes as needed.
• Perform maintenance on machine tools and keep the work area safe and organized.
• Travel as required.
• Follow safety procedures and policies.
