Job summary

Daikin Comfort is seeking a Model Maker 1 to fabricate prototype parts from sketches and prints and assemble engineering prototypes for testing in the engineering lab. You will set up and operate machines to bore, cut, drill, form, grind, mill, shape, turn, and assemble components to achieve proper alignment and function.

The role requires basic math, good communication, and the ability to learn CAD drawing and machine programming.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Machinist or sheet metal classes preferred.
Brazing Certification (in house training).
Welding Certification a plus.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate machines to bore, cut, drill, form, grind, mill, shape, turn, etc.
Assemble, fit, and adjust components for accurate alignment and operation.
Fabricate parts from prints, sketches, or various devices.
Support building prototype and developmental units for testing.
Maintain an organized workstation and practice good housekeeping.
Adhere to safety standards and company quality control procedures.
Manufacture basic parts and assemble prototypes for testing and fit and function.
Perform other duties as needed.
