Job summary

Amaris Consulting is seeking a Test Engineer – Development - Mechanical to support R&D activities involving capital equipment, instruments, disposables, and related medical-device subsystems. This hands-on role focuses on prototype development, engineering testing, fixture development, troubleshooting, dimensional inspection, and technical documentation.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of hands-on mechanical/technician experience in a lab or production setting.
• Experience with prototypes, fixtures, and testing of mechanical/electromechanical systems.
• Ability to read drawings, specs, tolerances and GD&T clearly.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, troubleshoot, and test mechanical/electromechanical prototypes, assemblies, fixtures, and subsystems.
• Set up and run engineering tests, collect data, and document results and observations.
• Design and build test fixtures and tooling using machining and additive manufacturing.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and CAD models, ensuring fit and tolerances.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve designs and manufacturability.
