Job summary

CFD Research Corporation in Crane, IN seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to design, develop, and integrate complex systems for our government and commercial customers, including prototype hardware and GD&T drawings.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, has 5+ years’ relevant experience, hands-on SolidWorks CAD, and experience with manufacturing methods such as milling and turning; familiarity with AS9100 is a plus.

Qualifications

• Candidate must be a US Citizen and meet eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience designing and developing prototype hardware.
• Experience with GD&T and ASME Y14.5.
• SolidWorks or other CAD experience.
• Designing for manufacturing methods including milling and turning operations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate complex systems and prototype hardware.
• Create and review GD&T drawings for manufacturing and assembly.
• Collaborate with government customers and contractors in an AS9100 environment.
• Interact with multiple stakeholders to deliver hardware solutions.
