Job summary

CFD Research Corporation seeks a CAD Design Engineer to join a growing team at the Hollywood, Alabama Engineering Test Center, near the Huntsville HQ. The role emphasizes concept development, prototyping, testing, and integrating complex systems for aerospace and defense customers.

Ideal candidates have SolidWorks CAD experience, a Bachelor's in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering, and at least 5 years of relevant, hands-on hardware design experience, with AS9100 familiarity preferred.

Qualifications

• Candidate must be a US citizen and meet eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
• Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or similar STEM) and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience designing and developing prototype hardware.
• SolidWorks or other CAD experience.
• Designing for manufacturing methods including milling and turning operations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate complex systems for customers.
• Work on concept development, prototyping, and testing.
• Collaborate with government customers and stakeholders.
• Support manufacturing liaison for DFM and production handoffs.
