Job summary

Wabtec Corporation in Oak Creek, Wisconsin is seeking an Engineering Technician to fabricate and machine components, prepare test setups and run validation tests for road equipment. You will operate CNC plasma cutting, 5-axis milling, brake presses, welding, and assemble prototypes, while documenting results and supporting engineers.

Travel up to 20% to customer sites; strong hands-on manufacturing, CAD/CAM, and data collection skills required; base salary range $55,900–$74,100; benefits

Qualifications

• 2+ years as engineering technician, machinist, or fabricator.
• Hands-on CNC plasma cutting, milling, brake press and fabrication tasks.
• Proficient with CNC setup, operation and programming, CAD/CAM software.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain CNC plasma cutting equipment.
• Use CNC brake press to form and bend parts to spec.
• Program and operate CNC 5-axis mill for complex components and test fixtures.
• Weld, cut, grind, drill and assemble prototypes or fixtures.
• Measure parts with calipers, micrometers, and gauges to tolerances.
• Maintain prototype equipment in good working order.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, or mechanical issues.
• Conduct performance tests and report results to engineering.
• Install instrumentation and data acquisition equipment per specs.
• Coordinate timely task completion with engineers and technicians.
• Provide input to development engineers from test results.
