Job summary

Techtronic Industries North America, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Prototype Machinist to learn machining skills while assisting in fabricating prototype components, fixtures, gauges, tooling, and other machine parts.

You will operate shop equipment, read drawings, and support development activities under guidance of skilled machinists. The role emphasizes safety, hands-on training in manual and CNC operations, reading blueprints, GD&T, and precision measurement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Enrollment in or completion of a technical program in Machine Tool Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in machining, manufacturing, and prototype development.
• Ability to learn machining fundamentals, blueprint reading, measurement techniques, and shop practices.

Responsibilities

• Learn and follow all safety policies and shop practices.
• Assist in setup and operation of manual and CNC machine tools under supervision.
• Support fabrication of prototype parts from drawings or CAD models.
• Perform basic machining tasks: drilling, milling, turning, sawing, tapping.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environment.
