Job summary

TTI in the United States is seeking an entry-level Prototype Machinist to learn and develop machining skills while assisting in fabricating prototype components. You will operate manual and CNC tools, read drawings and GD&T, and support cross-functional teams in prototype development, inspection, and maintenance of equipment in a safety-focused shop environment.

This role offers hands-on training with a supportive team, exposure to precision measurement, and opportunities to advance in prototype

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Enrollment in or completion of a technical program in Machine Tool Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Mechatronics, or related field preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in machining, manufacturing, and prototype development.
  • Ability to learn machining fundamentals, blueprint reading, measurement techniques, and shop practices.
  • Strong mathematical skills and problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and follow all company safety policies, procedures, and shop practices.
  • Assist in the setup and operation of manual and CNC machine tools under supervision.
  • Support the fabrication of prototype parts, fixtures, gauges, tooling, and related components from drawings, sketches, CAD models, and verbal instructions.
  • Perform basic machining tasks including drilling, milling, turning, sawing, tapping, and other operations as assigned.
  • Complete secondary operations such as deburring, sanding, polishing, assembly, and part finishing.
  • Learn to use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, indicators, height gauges, and other inspection tools.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and upkeep of prototype shop equipment.
  • Support Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams on prototype and development projects.
  • Learn to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and basic GD&T requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Participate in training and skill development activities to increase machining knowledge and technical capabilities.
