Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories in Pullman, WA is seeking a Hardware Engineering Technician to join the R&D Automation Hardware group. You will test proto type units and boards, troubleshoot equipment, and perform system level compliance scans while supporting engineers and documenting work.

The role includes building prototypes, assembling fixtures, and processing ECOs. Strong writing and teamwork are essential, with familiarity in PLCs and test equipment valued.

Qualifications

• Two-year electronic technology or related associate degree required.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Familiarity with modern test equipment.
• Familiarity with PLC and setting up or building computers.

Responsibilities

• Test prototype units and boards per engineering procedures.
• Build engineering prototypes and document construction records.
• Assist engineers in evaluating new electronic components.
• Assemble test fixtures, load banks, and other development hardware.
• Provide support to engineering staff and process ECOs of modest complexity.
