Job summary

Blue Origin LLC on Space Coast, FL is hiring a Prototype Engineer to work hands-on in prototype development and manufacturing. You will collaborate with design teams to iterate hardware, guide tooling and fixtures, and ensure manufacturability and timely delivery of development hardware.

The role requires 8+ years in CNC machining environments for complex products such as aerospace systems, with strong communication and problem solving. On-site work in Space Coast, FL is expected.

Qualifications

• B.S. in an engineering discipline relevant to prototype manufacturing.
• Experience in CNC machining for complex aerospace/hardware.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and design for manufacturability.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering teams during design and development of hardware.
• Champion the prototyping process with internal customers and manufacturing plans.
• Manufacture and evaluate hardware prototypes across iterations with design teams and machinists.
• Hands-on contribution to manufacturing and development efforts as needed.
• Provide guidance on machining techniques, tool selection, and fixtures.
• Define and support repair and rework activities.
• Engineer and fabricate solutions to meet critical schedules.
