Job summary

Actalent in Woburn, MA is seeking an Engineering Technician to assemble electrical control boxes from schematics and drawings, mount DIN rails, perform point-to-point wiring, and complete final electromechanical prototype assemblies.

You will work with electrical and mechanical engineers in a warehouse environment, troubleshoot wiring issues, and contribute to prototype development. This onsite contract role pays $33–$35/hr, depending on qualifications.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience assembling electrical boxes, control panels, or cabinets.
• Experience in point-to-point wiring.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
• Proficiency in electromechanical assembly.
• Proficiency with standard hand tools (screwdrivers, wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches).
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a prototype environment.
• Technical understanding to recognize mistakes and ask clarifying questions.

Responsibilities

• Assemble electrical control boxes based on schematics and engineering drawings.
• Perform point-to-point electrical wiring.
• Cut and strip wires, and install terminals and connectors.
• Connect sensors, pumps, and other components to electrical boxes.
• Complete final electromechanical assembly within prototype units.
• Identify drawing or wiring issues, ask appropriate questions, and support redlines.
• Work independently while collaborating with electrical and mechanical engineers.
