Job summary

Doble Engineering in Marlborough, MA is seeking a Temp Electro-Mechanical Technician to assemble, modify, and wire UTPs, test fixtures, and related hardware from schematics and work instructions.

The role requires hands-on soldering, cabling, and precision assembly skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced engineering environment. Reporting to the Sr. Test Engineering Manager, it offers exposure to production and prototype hardware.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and understand engineering schematics, drawings, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with soldering electronic components, connectors, and wiring assemblies.
• Experience fabricating and terminating cables and wire harnesses.
• Strong electromechanical assembly skills.
• Proficiency with common hand tools (wire strippers, crimpers, drills, screwdrivers, measuring devices).
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions with minimal supervision.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble UTPs, test fixtures, cable assemblies, and related electromechanical hardware.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and assembly documentation.
• Modify and rework assemblies using hand and power tools.
• Build and route wire harnesses and cable assemblies to engineering specifications.
• Solder PCB, connectors, and wire terminations.
• Install and integrate mechanical and electrical components including connectors, relays, switches, sensors, and other hardware.
• Assist engineering personnel with prototype development, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
• Inspect completed assemblies to ensure workmanship and compliance with engineering requirements.
• Maintain an organized and safe work area while following company quality and safety procedures.
• Document assembly changes and communicate issues identified during fabrication.
