Job description

Position Overview:

TPG is actively seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join our team based in the Commerce City, CO area. Our organization supports a leading global company dedicated to building state-of-the-art commercial vehicles. Successful candidates will support the research and development efforts to create the next generation of commercial transport solutions, driving innovation in the automotive and truck industry. In this position, you'll work alongside experienced professionals to maintain, diagnose, and repair diesel engines and related prototype systems.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of diesel engines and related systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on prototype fleet vehicles and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues with guidance from senior technicians.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify problems and determine solutions.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Complete required paperwork and detailed documentation for maintenance and repair activities.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance technical skills.
  • Assist with the installation and testing of new parts and systems.
  • Willingness to travel to locations.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Diesel Mechanic/Technician Certification from an accredited learning institution and/or 3 years prior shop experience.
  • Basic understanding of diesel engine systems and functions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to diagnose and follow troubleshooting procedures to resolution.
  • Proficiency in using basic hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic PC skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Valid driver's license (CDL preferred).
  • Passport preferred.

  • Comfort working in various environments, including outdoors and in garages.
  • Adaptability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.

Important Items:

  • This is a Safety-Sensitive position requiring all persons assigned to activity be drug-free and successfully pass drug screening prior to employment.
