Job summary

Evantic in Houston, TX seeks an applications design engineer to serve as a technical liaison between customers, sales, quality, and manufacturing. You will gather customer requirements, translate them into prototype designs, and develop and test concepts to ensure manufacturability and adherence to specifications.

Responsibilities include building prototypes, executing test plans, documenting results, and collaborating with production teams to assess tolerances and scalability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering plus 5+ years in a similar role.
• Proficient with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling software.
• Experience in CNC machining and reading technical drawings.
• Knowledge of DFM principles and design for manufacturability.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer requirements into buildable prototype designs.
• Build or configure prototypes per engineering specs.
• Design and execute test plans to validate prototype performance.
• Document results and suggest design or process changes.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to assess feasibility and tolerances.
• Maintain BOMs and drawings for handoff to production.
• Act as technical liaison with customers during prototypes.
