Job summary

Protolabs in Nashua, NH is seeking a CNC Machinist for the second shift (Mon–Fri, 3pm–11pm). You will set up CNC milling/lathe operations, program with Mastercam, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances. Prior prototype/manufacturing experience and blueprint reading are required. Qualifications

• Experience as CNC Milling or CNC lathe operator; setup experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of programming and prototypes environment.
• Familiar with CAD/CAM tools and measurement equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC milling or lathe machines and run jobs meeting tight specs.
• Prepare CAM files from CAD data, prints, and instructions.
• Ensure on-time delivery and accuracy within guidelines.
• Maintain organization of jobs and materials inventory.
• Perform machine cleaning and general shop maintenance.
• Read blueprints and use measuring tools (calipers, protractors, height gauges).
• Inspect parts and decide quality against specs.
• Escalate issues to shift lead or supervisor as needed.
• Support daily production with problem-solving and improvements.
• Keep production area neat and aligned with housekeeping standards.
• Work safely per Protolabs policies.
• Complete operator PMs during shift.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
