AtlasBase in South San Francisco is seeking a Sr. Research Associate/Scientist for the Protein Production team. You will ensure consistent production of recombinant proteins, perform purification using ÄKTA systems, and help scale processes while maintaining rigorous documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related field.
• Experience with protein purification techniques and ÄKTA systems.
• Detail-oriented, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with lab safety protocols and rigorous documentation.
• Experience transitioning from lab-scale to pilot-level manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Purify recombinant proteins using ÄKTA systems and gravity chromatography.
• Scale purification workflows from small- to large-scale production.
• Troubleshoot expression and purification protocols.
• Quantify proteins, assess quality, and characterize products.
• Maintain inventory records and adhere to SOPs and data integrity.
• Communicate findings and present at team meetings.
