Job summary

The Center for Biocatalysis and Bioprocessing (CBB) at The University of Iowa is seeking to add a Core Facility Research Assistant to its dedicated professional staff. The hire will manufacture protein products for our contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) organization on campus.

You will learn fermentation and purification processes for pilot scale manufacturing under cGMP and non-cGMP conditions. Work on campus with a Monday–Friday schedule, 8:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• Six months to one year of relevant laboratory or biotech industry experience.
• Attention to detail and accurate record keeping and process documentation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and relationship management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups to achieve goals.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture protein products as part of our contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) organization.
• Learn the overview of fermentation and purification processes required for pilot scale manufacturing; eventually focus on fermentation or purification.
