Job summary

Old Colony YMCA is seeking a Protective Services Worker to investigate and substantiate allegations of abuse and neglect in the elder community. Join a Protective Services team focused on safety, independence, and dignity for older adults.

The role requires crisis intervention experience, a social work background, and flexibility for after-hours coverage. A bachelor's degree is preferred and bilingual skills are a plus in a hybrid work setting serving the South Shore area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field highly preferred; Current licensure if appropriate.
• Two years of experience in the human services field preferably with the elder population and/or crisis intervention.

Responsibilities

• Promote the independent functioning of members and provide services in the most appropriate, least restrictive environment.
• Conduct investigations and evaluate the functional capacity, situation and resources of the elder.
• Develop and implement appropriate protective services plan to alleviate risk and abuse.
• Determine whether a petition to the court for a Protective Order exists and refer situations involving serious abuse to the District Attorney.
• Provide emergency PS department coverage during non-business hours.

To that end, OCES is looking for a dedicated Protective Services Worker (PSW) to work in our Protective Services department to investigate and substantiate allegations of abuse and neglect in the elder adult community.

What You Will Do
