Job summary

St. John’s Home in Rochester, NY seeks a Protective Services Officer to maintain safety for residents, visitors and staff. The role handles emergency and non-emergency calls, conducts campus checks, and supports security operations.

Shifts include 7:00 AM–3:30 PM on Saturdays and Sundays, with per diem pay and eligible benefits such as health/dental/vision, paid time off, and free parking. Required: NYS Security Guard Card, high school diploma or GED, and valid NYS driver’s license; EMT/CPR

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Associate's degree in Police Science, Criminal Justice, or a related field plus a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience; or 2 years of directly applicable experience; or an equivalent combination of education preferred.
• Emergency Medical First Responder or E.M.T. / CPR-AED Certification preferred.
• NYS Security Guard Card certification and experience required.
• Valid NYS driver’s license with ability to meet agency driving standards required.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• At least 1 year of security or public safety work preferred.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
