Job summary

Dominion Energy is seeking candidates for System Protection Technician T1 and T2 roles in Virginia. You’ll work with protective relays, SCADA components, and OT systems across substations, gaining hands-on experience with installation, testing, and maintenance.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree or equivalent military training in electrical tech, with 0–2 years of related experience. On-site work, strong safety focus, and documentation duties are required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or Advanced Post Secondary diploma in an electrical discipline or equivalent military experience.
• 0-1 years of relevant experience for Technican T1 with required education.
• 1-2 years for Technician T2 and completion of program steps 1 & 2 or equivalent.
• Knowledge of substation equipment and protection system components.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation and commissioning of protection equipment.
• Verify protection assets functionality and communication during installation.
• Participate in acceptance testing of voltage and current sensing devices.
• Maintain and test protection systems within maintenance intervals and regulatory requirements.
• Complete compliance paperwork and supporting documentation.
• Apply Cyber Security controls per Dominion Energy standards.
