Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with Electrical Engineering focus; power systems coursework preferred.

• Ability to learn and utilize job-specific software; work in a team environment.
• Microsoft Office proficiency; familiarity with industry software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support to field personnel and contractors for the commissioning, testing and maintenance of system protection components.
• Provides Operations and Transmission System Controllers with details of system faults, and evaluations on the adequacy of available protection for various system configurations.
• Assists in troubleshooting technical problems on various electrical equipment and systems.
• Collaborates with other engineers and departments to provide consultation on protection adequacy, testing requirements, outage staging and final verification of protection system integrity for capital projects.
• Prepares and checks commissioning paperwork to ensure it meets applicable compliance requirements.
• Generates internal and external reports on various facets of transmission system, protection equipment and compliance efforts.
• Attends meetings and training sessions to increase professional knowledge and skills.
