Job summary

OP Engineering seeks an experienced Protection and Controls Engineer to own protection across high-capacity campus power systems, including generation, substations, and MV/HV distribution.

The role is hands-on with duties spanning setting development, protection architecture, testing, and field commissioning. Expect emphasis on relay coordination, SEL platforms, and generator protection expertise in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated protection and controls engineering experience.
• Hands-on relay settings and coordination knowledge.
• Experience with generator protection and arc-flash concepts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop MV/HV relay settings and coordination studies.
• Design protection, communications and SCADA architecture.
• Produce and verify relay configuration files.
• Support protection testing and field commissioning.
• Investigate trips and misoperations; diagnose root causes.
