Job summary

Cleco Corporate Holdings LLC is seeking an experienced Relay Technician II to maintain, test and repair protection systems across transmission, distribution and substations. You will install, calibrate, test and troubleshoot relays, CCVTs, PTs and related equipment, ensuring correct voltage routing and reliable operation.

The role requires strong diagnostic and collaborative skills, leadership when needed, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and 2+ years vocational/technical training in Electrical Technology or related field.
• Experience with protective relays, control circuits and substation equipment is preferred.
• Strong ability to diagnose, repair, test and calibrate relay systems and related protective equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, diagnose and repair protective relays, substations, control circuits, DSCADA/SCADA systems, and battery systems.
• Install, wire and checkout protective relaying and associated control systems in transmission, distribution and generation stations.
• Perform testing of SCADA systems, carrier systems, CCVTs, transformers and CTs/PTs; analyze results and locate faults.
• Operate as senior technician, train field personnel, supervise contractors and communicate risks and milestones.
• Keep accurate records in SAP Equipment Maintenance database; develop relay testing and DSCADA programs.
