National Grid in Syracuse, NY is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a protection engineering team responsible for protection analysis, system modeling, and support for customer load and generation interconnections. The role focuses on enabling a cleaner, more reliable energy future and delivering complex capital projects.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, at least 6 years of experience, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum of 6 years of Electrical Engineering experience.
• Protection Engineering knowledge required.
• Interconnection processes knowledge preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

Responsabilités

• Lead a high-performing team of engineers responsible for protection analysis, transmission system modeling, and technical support for interconnections.
• Drive completion of engineering from concept to project closeout for interconnections and greenfield/substation projects.
• Coordinate with NY ISO, regulators, and internal stakeholders to ensure safe, reliable grid performance.
• Develop and mentor team members; manage performance reviews and staffing plans.
• Maintain knowledge of engineering processes and drive collaboration across functional groups.
