Job summary

AEP in Texarkana, TX is seeking a P&C Electrician to join our field operations team. You will install, test, and maintain protection and control devices across substations and related equipment, under supervision.

This role emphasizes safety, reliability, and compliance with NERC standards. Travel and overtime may be required. A relevant Associate degree is required; no prior work experience is necessary. A valid driver’s license and a Physical Abilities Test are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electrical engineering technology or related field.
• Ability to acquire knowledge and perform duties with supervision.
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license and meet vehicle operation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in testing protection, control, and measurement devices in stations.
• Test and calibrate devices on schedule and as required.
• Diagnose trouble/mis-operation and assist with corrective actions.
• Operate computer devices to test, calibrate, and retrieve data from protection/control equipment.
• Maintain and operate SCADA and associated communications equipment.
