Job summary

AEP Service Corporation in New Albany, OH seeks a Protection and Control Designer to support designing protection systems and drafting electrical schematics for reliable power delivery.

You will use AutoCAD Electrical and other engineering tools to prepare accurate substation drawings, review vendor docs, and collaborate with engineers during testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting, while ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• AAS in drafting/CAD or equivalent (or 6 years of relevant experience).
• Available for overtime, call-out overtime and shift work; travel >10%.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Create, revise and maintain engineering drawings and schematics.
• Review vendor drawings and ensure compliance with standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and field staff during testing and commissioning.
• Perform calculations and read prints to incorporate data into drawings.
• Train and support AEP employees in basic CAD skills and safety policies.
