Job summary

Siemens Smart Infrastructure seeks an Electrical Engineering Intern for Protection & Automation beginning January 2027 in Denver, CO. You will rotate through teams, work on relays, RTUs, HMIs, and learn project lifecycles from design to warranty support.

The program offers exposure to protection and automation design, testing, and field exposure, with on-site work and a fixed-term internship structure.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or related field.
• On-site work requirement; part-time up to 29 hours per week during spring semester.
• Must be located within 50 miles of Denver, CO.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Structured experiential learning program for enrolled students continuing studies.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through PPA teams (summer, fall, spring) to learn day-to-day roles across project lifecycle.
• Assist with configuring protective relays, RTUs, and HMIs; gain experience with AC/DC schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Learn how technical scope translates into engineering hours, costs, and proposals.
• Observe post-delivery project support including warranty and customer case management.
