Job summary

Iona University in New Rochelle, NY is hiring an Assistant Director for Prospect Research & Development to identify, analyze, and cultivate major gift prospects. You will build concise profiles and wealth assessments to inform frontline fundraisers and leadership.

You will leverage Raiser’s Edge and other data sources to deliver actionable intelligence, dashboards, and insights that shape fundraising strategy and pipeline management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3–5 years of experience in prospect research, fundraising analytics, advancement services, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct sophisticated prospect research and wealth analysis.
• Experience with advancement CRMs such as Raiser’s Edge NXT, Salesforce, or comparable system.
• Strong analytical skills and advanced proficiency in Excel or data-analysis tools.
• Ability to translate research into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Identify new major and principal gift prospects among alumni, donors, and other constituents.
• Conduct comprehensive prospect research using wealth screening and public information.
• Develop concise prospect profiles and wealth assessments for frontline fundraisers.
• Analyze alumni career progression, ownership, board service, and philanthropy indicators.
• Monitor news and activities involving high-priority prospects.
• Create and maintain dashboards and reports communicating pipeline activity to leadership.
• Establish recurring prospect-screening processes and scalable research methods.
