Job summary

The State of Georgia seeks an Assistant Attorney General for the Organized Retail Crime Unit within the Department of Law to prosecute organized retail crime across the state from investigation through trial. You will direct investigations, draft indictments, file motions, examine witnesses, and serve as lead counsel at trial.

The role requires building partnerships with retailers and coordinating with local and federal prosecutors, law enforcement, and community leaders.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited law school and active Georgia Bar membership.
  • Five or more years of litigation or prosecution experience preferred.
  • Experience prosecuting theft or cyber crimes is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prosecute organized retail crime across the State from investigation through trial.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with retailers and law enforcement.
  • Supervise prosecutors, investigators, and staff in ORC unit and provide ongoing training.
  • Coordinate with local and federal agencies on organized retail crime cases.
