Job summary

The Office of the Attorney General, Department of Law, Georgia, seeks an Assistant Attorney General for Prosecutions in the Organized Retail Crime Unit. The role prosecutes organized retail crime statewide from investigation through trial and directs complex litigation.

Minimum qualifications include a law degree and Georgia Bar membership; five+ years in litigation or prosecution; two+ years in theft or cyber crime preferred. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited law school.
  • Member of the Georgia Bar in good standing.
  • Five (5) or more years of litigation or prosecution experience.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience prosecuting theft crimes or cyber crimes (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Prosecute organized retail crime across the State from investigation through trial.
  • Direct investigations, draft indictments, file and litigate motions, examine witnesses, and lead at trial.
  • Establish partnerships with retailers and coordinate training for staff.
  • Coordinate with local and federal prosecutors, law enforcement, and community leaders to prosecute ORC.
  • Coordinate and conduct ORC training for law enforcement and related agencies.
  • Review and coordinate search warrants, arrest warrants, and subpoenas for records.
  • Collaborate with White Collar, Human Trafficking, and Gangs Sections on overlapping cases.
