Job summary

Voyager Technologies, Inc. in Pittsburgh is seeking a Senior Propulsion Engineer to design, build, test and operate propulsion systems for spacecraft and lunar landers. The role reports to the Propulsion and Thermal Systems Manager and is a hybrid role with regular on-site presence.

You will lead cross-functional teams, coordinate requirements and risks, and contribute to mission readiness and safety reviews for testing activities of propulsion components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Aerospace/Mechanical Eng with 8+ years propulsion experience
• Master’s with 6+ years propulsion experience
• Experience leading a technical team of 3+ engineers
• Knowledge of propulsion architecture, components, and suppliers

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the design, integration, testing, and operation of propulsion systems for spacecraft and lunar landers
• Coordinate with program management, systems engineering, and other subsystems to assess requirements, design progress, schedule, and risks
• Create conceptual and detailed designs of hypergol-based propulsion systems including tanks, valves, instrumentation, engines, and pressurization systems
• Perform supplier management support including developing specifications for vendor-supplied components and ensuring requirements via tests/analysis
• Create integration instructions and support during spacecraft assembly in the cleanroom
• Contribute to readiness and safety reviews for propulsion tests and on-site vendor hardware support
• Write mission operations procedures and provide real-time mission operations support
