Job summary

Ursa Major is seeking a Systems Engineer II to ensure propulsion systems meet customer needs. You will develop requirements, align design teams and customers, and plan verification and qualification with traceability. Your MBSE focus will integrate internal models with customer frameworks while supporting risk management and close collaboration across functions.

The role demands a BS in a related field and 2+ years in aerospace systems engineering, with eligibility for a U.S. secret clearance.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Aerospace, Systems or Mechanical Engineering or related technical subject area.
• 2+ years of experience applying aerospace systems engineering processes (design reviews, requirements validation/verification, risk assessments).
• Familiarity with DOORS or Jama for requirements management.
• Experience with MBSE and Cameo tools.
• Strong organization and relationship-building skills.
• Able to interpret engineering drawings, specs and test data; cross-functional interfacing.
• Eligible for U.S. secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Help define, validate, and maintain system requirements across programs.
• Build system-level qualification plans for SRMs.
• Track verification status through development and qualification.
• Review test plans to confirm requirement conformance.
• Support risk analysis and mitigation; own system risks to closure.
• Maintain traceability between engineering deliverables and teams.
• Develop MBSE models of SRM systems and related methodologies.
• Communicate requirement compliance at program reviews.
• Integrate internal models with customer models and frameworks.
• Create, manage, and train system engineering tools and processes.
• Other duties as assigned.
