Job summary

Stellantis is seeking a Propulsion Base Software Low-Level Driver Engineer in Auburn Hills, MI to design, develop, and validate embedded driver software for propulsion control modules. You will implement MCAL level drivers, hardware interfaces (SPI, I2C, HSD/LSD, PWM), and motor control interfaces, in a fast-paced automotive environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 8+ years of related experience.
• Experience with embedded C/C++ development in real-time operating systems.
• Experience developing or integrating low-level drivers and MCAL.
• Experience with SPI, I2C, HSD/LSD, H-Bridge, PWM, and motor control interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded low-level driver software including requirements analysis, architecture, coding, integration, and verification.
• Implement hardware interface drivers for peripherals and external devices including HSD/LSD, SPI, I2C, H-Bridge interfaces, and motor control drivers.
• Develop and integrate MCAL components, hardware interface drivers, and complex device drivers for propulsion applications.
• Configure AUTOSAR Basic Software modules such as OS, IOHWAB, FEE, and WDG using Vector or ETAS toolchains.
• Perform hardware-software integration using schematics, manuals, and MCU documentation.
• Support ECU hardware bring-up and early software enablement on new controller platforms.
• Debug and troubleshoot using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG, trace tools, and emulators (Lauterbach).
• Optimize for deterministic real-time performance and efficient memory usage on multicore MCUs.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems, controls, and supplier teams to ensure hardware interface functionality.
• Ensure alignment with AUTOSAR architecture and system resource usage.
• Contribute to design and code reviews and maintain documentation.
• Perform unit, integration, and validation testing on target hardware.
