Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Elkton, Maryland is seeking an experienced Propulsion Engineer – Structural Analysis at Level 3/4 to support solid rocket motor development. Responsibilities include conducting structural analyses, developing models, and presenting results to customers.

Qualifications

BS in STEM with 5+ years of related experience, or MS with 3+ years.
Experience with FEA software: ABAQUS, NASTRAN, ANSYS, FEMAP, or equivalents.
Ability to present analytical results orally and in writing.
Strong interpersonal, communication and critical thinking skills.
US Citizenship with ability to obtain Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

Conduct structural analyses for solid rocket motor propulsion design.
Develop mathematical models with boundary conditions and material properties.
Assist design of experiments to collect data for analyses.
Interpret results and recommend system improvements.
Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal and external customers.
Coordinate with IPT leads to ensure technical and cost execution.
Collaborate with customer technical teams.
