Job summary

General Motors Company is seeking a Quality Engineer to serve as the voice of the customer for propulsion system quality and cost-reduction initiatives. The role involves leading quality activities across design reviews, launches, and production support, with up to 25% travel and onsite work in New York area.

Responsibilities include defect analysis, quality solutions development for medium changes, and facilitating quality reviews with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree with 2 years of manufacturing experience.
• 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Able to travel up to 10%.
• Willing to work weekends/off shifts as needed by the business.

Responsibilities

• Perform early issue identification, tracking and resolution to ensure segment leadership.
• Provide clear and timely communication to Quality management relative to quality issues.
• Develop, test, and create quality solutions for medium level changes.
• Analyze defects and verify quality for vehicle subsystems.
• Participate in design reviews.
• Lead launch and current production problem solving activities.
• Deploy quality work according to development timing.
• Capture critical status updates for Quality reviews with the product team.
• Facilitate Quality Review meetings and maintain presentation materials integrity.
• Support GPS PET with quality analysis information.
• Analyze warranty and customer survey information.
• Support global quality planning processes and templates.
• Collaborate across functions and regions to resolve issues.
