Job summary

FastTek Global is seeking a Powertrain Project Manager in Auburn Hills, MI, to lead propulsion systems integration at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant. The role oversees hardware/software/calibration integration, triage, and part sign-off to ensure readiness from execution builds through production.

The candidate will coordinate across engineering, manufacturing, supplier quality, and plant leadership, with on-site availability and flexibility to work outside normal hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field; 8+ years experience required.
• Experience with automotive manufacturing, vehicle integration, propulsion systems, product development, launch, or production support.
• Knowledge of hardware and software/calibration release and integration processes.
• Ability to lead structured problem solving across engineering, manufacturing, supplier quality, and production organizations.
• Strong communication, organization, escalation, and technical decision-making in a fast-paced plant enviroment.
• On-site work at Sterling Heights Assembly Plant and willingness to support outside hours when needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead in-plant integration and readiness of PRS components, software, and calibrations.
• Organize PRS triage with clear problem statements, priorities, owners, and closure criteria.
• Represent propulsion during rolls testing, end-of-line activities, and audits; drive resolution.
• Coordinate propulsion part sign-off at execution builds: verify parts, pedigree, fit, and function.
• Coordinate software/calibration integration into plant flash-stations; align release timing and readiness.
• Coordinate plant-based PER activity with engineering support and availability, follow-up actions.
• Drive timely resolution of RMS/TEQ issues affecting propulsion; ensure cross-functional ownership and closure.
• Ensure propulsion alignment within MLM and production control processes, including content and timing.
• Coordinate engineering engagement at SHAP; align resources with plant priorities and escalation.
