Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Magna, Utah is seeking a Third Operator to perform manual manufacturing tasks for solid fuel rocket motors used for government and commercial customers. You will handle tooling/assembly/disassembly, case surface prep, final product assembly, chemical mixing, propellant handling, and maintain clean work areas.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED (education will be verified).
• 1-2 years (or more) of previous manufacturing (product assembly) experience.
• Able to acquire and maintain Employee Possessor (EP) status under the Safe Explosives Act (SEA).
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license
• Must be able to work shift work, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong interpersonal communication skills with ability to work with others at all levels of the organization
• Ability to work independently and be a team player

Responsibilities

• Perform manual hands-on activities related to manufacturing solid fuel rocket motors.
• Handle Tooling/Assembly/Disassembly, Case Surface Preparation, Final Product Assembly.
• Chemical Mixing/Casting and Propellant Ingredient Handling, maintaining cleanliness.
• Read, comprehend and follow instructions, and perform basic math and measurement functions.
• Collaborate as a team member to influence safety, quality, cost and scheduling.
