Job summary

Northrop Grumman, Space Systems is seeking a Principal Energetics Engineer (Level 3) for the Rocket Motor Nozzle Manufacturing team in Promontory, Utah. This role operates on a 4/10 schedule, Thursday to Sunday, within a safety-focused environment.

The ideal candidate will drive manufacturing process improvements, perform root-cause analysis, and collaborate with engineering to deliver build-to-package documentation and tooling enhancements.

Qualifications

• Requires a B.S. in Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering with 5 years’ experience or 3 years with a master’s degree.
• Leads a team or project and communicates effectively.
• Proficiency with basic software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and instill a strong safety culture in daily operations.
• Develop and continuously improve manufacturing processes.
• Support manufacturing operations including composites, machining, rubber layup, coatings and complex assemblies.
• Perform root-cause investigations to eliminate defects.
• Collaborate with concurrent engineering to create Build-to-Packages and documents.
• Prepare and present technical reviews to leadership and customers.
