Job summary

Rocket Lab USA in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Propulsion Intern to support the development and operation of the Archimedes engine for the Neutron launch vehicle. You will join a team owning high-level engine architecture and subsystem details, collaborating across Neutron development and testing teams.

The internship emphasizes mentorship, hands-on engineering, and professional growth in a fast-paced setting with technical talks and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate degree program in an Aerospace, Aeronautical, Astronautical, or Mechanical engineering discipline and have at least one semester remaining post internship.
• GPA of 3.0 or above.
• 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, lab, or projects).

Responsibilities

• Work closely with a mentor and team to apply knowledge and grow technically and professionally.
• Collaborate with engineers to solve real aerospace challenges in a fast-paced environment.
• Attend regular 1:1s with mentors and supervisors to track progress and learning.
• Participate in tech talks and network with interns and employees.
