Job summary

Rocket Lab in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Propulsion Intern to support the Archimedes engine development for the Neutron vehicle. You will collaborate with engineers across teams, apply engineering concepts, and learn through mentorship and regular progress reviews.

The role emphasizes hands-on experience, teamwork, and participation in intern events, with a paid, on-site 12-week commitment beginning early 2027.

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate degree program in an Aerospace, Aeronautical, Astronautical, or Mechanical engineering discipline and have at least one semester of school remaining post internship.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and personal/team project experience is applicable).

Responsibilities

  • Support development and operation of Archimedes engine for Neutron launch vehicle.
  • Work with a mentor and cross-functional teams to apply engineering concepts and grow professionally.
  • Attend frequent 1:1’s with mentors and supervisors to track progress and learning.
  • Engage in technical talks and intern networking events.
